Engineering Manager

As an Engineering Manager, you will lead and empower a team of software development professionals to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing applications. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with strategic oversight, ensuring timely delivery of complex solutions while fostering innovation and continuous improvement. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, manage budgets, and drive operational excellence.

Technical Leadership:

  • Provide hands-on technical leadership, coaching, and guidance to software engineers.
  • Oversee the design, development, and delivery of secure, scalable, and highly available applications using.NET, React.js, and MySQL.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to guide technical strategy and innovation.

Team Management:

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing engineering team, setting clear goals and performance expectations.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement, ensuring team members develop skills in modern frameworks and methodologies.
  • Balance workloads to maximize team capability and ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions.

Operational Excellence:

  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement using metric-driven insights and productivity assessments.
  • Manage and report on operational metrics, including resource utilization, queue churn, risk assessment, and project status.
  • Drive change initiatives to improve engineering processes and align with organizational objectives.

Project and Budget Management:

  • Execute large, complex projects using Agile development methods.
  • Establish and manage financial budgets to ensure resource efficiency and project alignment.
  • Make timely decisions to balance current priorities with future roadmap objectives.

On-Call Responsibilities:

  • Participate in a rotational on-call schedule to address critical issues and maintain service continuity.

Required Qualifications:

  • 12–15 years of software development experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Strong hands-on experience in.NET and full-stack development (React.js preferred).
  • Proven expertise in cloud platforms (AWS preferred; Azure/GCP acceptable).
  • Experience designing and operating secure, scalable, and highly available web and mobile applications, large-scale distributed systems using service-oriented or microservices architecture.
  • Proficiency in MySQL and strong understanding of relational database design.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile development methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and decision-making skills.
  • Adept in Object-Oriented Design and security principles in software development.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex, large-scale software solutions.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Familiarity with data platforms (a plus, not mandatory).
  • Certifications in Agile, Cloud Technologies, or Project Management.
