Mechanical Engineer Pe (On-Site)
Location: Orlando, FL
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer (PE) to join our Orlando team. This role involves performing engineering calculations, designing mechanical systems, and applying industry codes and standards with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, the ability to resolve project challenges, and proven leadership skills. This position also offers opportunities to mentor junior staff and collaborate with project managers and other disciplines on high-profile projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering and system design.
- Strong knowledge of discipline-specific and building codes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Leadership experience with client interaction and project oversight.
Responsibilities
- Perform engineering calculations and design mechanical systems in compliance with codes, standards, and procedures.
- Resolve project issues with sound engineering judgment and practical solutions.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and Engineers to review design scope, schedule, budget, and site considerations.
- Estimate man-hours and contribute to project budgets and schedules.
- Assign tasks and supervise designers to ensure quality and timely project completion.
- Deliver construction documents that meet client and project requirements.
- Review and coordinate designs across disciplines for functionality and compliance.
- Perform final reviews of engineering drawings.
- Maintain direct client communication regarding project updates and requirements.
- Provide quality assurance in coordination with technical managers.
- Mentor and motivate engineering designers, setting high professional standards.
- Meet tight deadlines while ensuring quality design output.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills
- Proficiency in REVIT and engineering modeling tools.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication (written and oral).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
