Mechanical Engineer Pe (On-Site)

Location: Phoenix, AZ

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer (PE) to join our Phoenix team. This role requires expertise in system design, engineering calculations, and the application of industry codes and standards. The ideal candidate can work independently with minimal supervision, resolve complex project challenges, and mentor junior staff. This position also involves collaboration with project managers and other disciplines to ensure high-quality and timely project delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in mechanical engineering and system design.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical discipline codes and applicable building codes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven leadership and client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering calculations and design mechanical systems in compliance with codes, standards, and procedures.
  • Resolve project-related issues with sound engineering judgment.
  • Collaborate with Project Engineers and Project Managers to review scope, schedule, budget, and site conditions.
  • Estimate man-hours and assist in preparing project design budgets and schedules.
  • Provide leadership to designers, assigning and supervising work to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Deliver construction documents that align with client and project team requirements.
  • Review preliminary and final designs for function, clearances, and coordination.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews in collaboration with technical managers.
  • Engage in client communications regarding design and project updates.
  • Mentor and motivate engineering designers; promote professional integrity and high performance standards.
  • Ensure timely delivery of design work while maintaining quality.
  • Additional duties as required.

  • Proficiency in REVIT and engineering modeling tools.
