Operations Specialist – Evening Shift

A growing logistics and transportation company in Rochester is seeking a detail-oriented Operations Specialist to staff the inbound service window at its terminal. This position serves as the first point of contact for arriving drivers, requiring professionalism, clear communication, and accuracy in shipment processing.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in inbound truck drivers promptly and professionally
• Assign docks and relay work instructions to forklift and dock personnel
• Monitor freight movements, confirm shipment details, and resolve discrepancies
• Enter updates into the Transportation Management System (TMS) in real time
• Act as a communication link between drivers, dock staff, and terminal management
• Identify and report operational issues, supporting timely corrective action

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required
• Prior experience in freight, logistics, terminal operations, or a service-window/customer service environment preferred
• Strong attention to detail with accurate data entry and shipment tracking skills
• Comfortable working with logistics or terminal management systems
• Professional, reliable, and accountable team player

Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM – 11:30 PM Pay: $24.00–$25.00 per hour
