Snowflake Platform Engineer

At NEORIS-EPAM, we are looking for a Snowflake Platform Engineer to join the DATA&AI team, with solid experience in data platform administration and infrastructure knowledge on AWS.

You will be responsible for the advanced administration of Snowflake and the related AWS data infrastructure, with a focus on automation, governance, and technical support for the team—contributing to the development of a scalable, efficient, and secure platform.

The goal of the role is to ensure the proper functioning, optimization, and security of the data platform, supporting the Data Engineering team and ensuring best practices are followed.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer the Snowflake platform, including security, integration with catalogs (Iceberg/Glue), and permission management via RBAC.
  • Provide support to data engineers: identify ETL issues, suggest improvements, and promote best practices.
  • Automate processes and tasks using Python scripts.
  • Collaborate with data and business teams to align infrastructure with strategic needs.
  • Ensure availability, efficiency, and scalability of the data platform in AWS.
  • Define and implement standards and best practices for using Snowflake.

Requirements:

  • Strong experience administering Snowflake (security, permissions, integrations).
  • Advanced knowledge of data infrastructure on AWS.
  • Experience with Data Lakes and their integration with Snowflake.
  • Proficient in Python for task automation.
  • Highly organized, autonomous, and results-oriented. Senior-level professional with the ability to prioritize and deliver business value.

Highly valued:

  • Previous experience supporting Data Engineering teams.
  • Knowledge in cost optimization and performance tuning in cloud environments.
  • Snowflake or AWS certifications (e.g., SnowPro Advanced Architect, AWS Solutions Architect).
