The Role

At Neo, design is a core driver of how we build trust, simplify money, and create exceptional experiences for Canadians. As we continue to scale, we're looking for a highly organized, systems-minded operator to help lead the operational backbone of our design organization.

As Director, Creative Design & Operations, you'll act as a strategic partner to the VP of Design, helping run the day-to-day operations of the design organization while driving clarity, structure, prioritization, and execution across teams and initiatives.

This role sits at the intersection of design, product, operations, and leadership. You'll help create the systems, processes, and operational rhythms that allow creative and product design teams to move quickly, stay aligned, and deliver high-quality work at scale.

This is a highly cross-functional role that requires strong organizational leadership, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to bring order to fast-moving environments.

What You'll Be Doing

Organizational Operations

  • Partner directly with the VP of Design, Heads and Directors to manage and optimize the day-to-day operations of the design organization
  • Drive operational excellence across design, creative, and cross-functional initiatives
  • Build scalable systems, workflows, and organizational processes that improve execution and team efficiency
  • Help create clarity around priorities, ownership, timelines, and team coordination

Program & Project Leadership

  • Own cross-project tracking, prioritization, backlog management, and operational planning across multiple streams of work
  • Coordinate initiatives across Product Design, Brand, Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Leadership teams
  • Identify blockers, dependencies, and operational gaps before they impact delivery
  • Improve visibility into project health, capacity, and organizational priorities

Strategic Planning & Leadership Support

  • Support quarterly planning, roadmap alignment, organizational initiatives, and leadership operations
  • Prepare updates, operational reviews, presentations, and reporting for leadership discussions
  • Help drive accountability and follow-through across key initiatives
  • Assist in scaling the design organization through improved planning, onboarding, documentation, and operational structure

Design Enablement

  • Improve how teams collaborate, communicate, and execute work
  • Establish operational standards, rituals, and systems that support high-quality creative output
  • Help maintain strong organizational health across tooling, documentation, workflows, and team practices
  • Create lightweight processes that enable teams without adding unnecessary overhead

Who We're Looking For

  • 6+ years of experience in Design Operations, Creative Operations, Program Management, Design Director, Chief of Staff, or similar operational leadership roles
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Experience supporting senior leadership and managing complex cross-functional initiatives
  • Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous, and rapidly evolving environments
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Systems thinker with a bias toward clarity, structure, and execution
  • Deep appreciation for design, product development, and creative workflows
