We're seeking a Manager of Power Generation Engineering to lead the engineering team responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of OPPD's North Omaha Station and all Peaking Units, while also supporting the broader generation fleet, including owned solar, wind, and storage resources.

This is a high-impact role for an experienced engineering leader who thrives at the intersection of technical excellence, operational strategy, and people development. In this role, you will guide a team of system engineers who support plant operations, troubleshoot complex equipment issues, analyze system performance, and drive long-term reliability improvements. You'll oversee the development and execution of multi-year engineering plans, lead the implementation of OPPD's Equipment Reliability Program, and ensure that critical systems are monitored, maintained, and optimized. You'll also play a key role in budget planning, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional collaboration across Utility Operations.

Qualifications required:

• A minimum of seven (7) years of engineering-related experience at or in support of a power generating facility. A Master's degree in Engineering or Business may be used in lieu of 1 year of experience.
• A Bachelor of Science degree or higher in an Engineering discipline. An accredited engineering Master's degree may be considered in lieu of two years of work experience.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Nebraska or ability to obtain licensure within 1 year of assignment.
• Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring a multi-disciplinary team.
• Must be able to communicate effectively to all site stakeholders, regulators, and senior leadership.
• Must be able to plan work, allocate resources, direct activities, and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously to effectively optimize resource utilization.
• A valid driver's license is required.

Desired:

• Any combination of steam turbine (coal, natural gas, nuclear) power plant, dual fuel simple cycle combustion turbine, reciprocating engine, or renewable (storage, photovoltaic solar, wind) generation technology experience.
• An advanced degree in Engineering, Business Administration or Management.
• Familiarity in equipment reliability programs, continuous improvement processes and LEAN concepts.

Time demands:

• This position is considered a non-essential position however; this position may be required to report to work to support the restoration of normal business operations.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance in alignment with Departmental policy.
• Must be available for overtime work and call-outs as required to ensure continuance of efficient operation.
• Must maintain 24-hour availability for technical and professional assistance, emergency response, and directing remedial action in response to such emergencies.
• Frequent travel between OPPD generation assets and business locations will be required. Primary work location will be North Omaha Station and other northern OPPD territory generation sites.

Work environment:

• Office: Work will be performed in a modern office environment amid normal conditions of dust, odors, fumes, and noises.
• Field: Work will be performed outside in a wide variety of weather conditions (snow, rain, heat, cold, wind, etc.), terrain, and other natural environmental hazards as well as pollen and other airborne allergens.
• Generation Plant: Work will be performed inside with exposure to industrial building conditions and will be exposed to extreme temperatures, odors, dusts, gases, poor ventilation and exposure to sounds. Noise levels may require shouting in order to be heard. Will work around energies high voltage electrical equipment, in construction areas that present many physical hazards, and job sites where Ammonia is utilized.

Physical demands:

• Must have the ability to: work under stressful situations; operate a computer and other office equipment; sit at a desk for more than one hour at a time; move about the company and interact with all levels of the Company. Be able to lift 25 lbs. from floor to waist, and complete driving activities in support of positional duties.
