Assistant Manager Store Operations

This position supervises and coordinates the activities of employees, ensuring that customer's needs are met.

Reporting relations include accountability to the District Store Director and Store Manager. The position oversees all positions except those listed above or designated by the Store Director.

Primary duties and responsibilities include maintaining a positive attitude, generating a friendly atmosphere, providing prompt and courteous customer service, overseeing proper training, handling employee issues, and coordinating disciplinary procedures when necessary. The role also involves assisting management in determining pricing, ensuring product quality, and maintaining store standards for customer service, employee relations, and overall departmental profitability.

Secondary duties include determining motivational needs, recruiting and interviewing job applicants, staying current with market trends, providing continuous education, and assisting in all areas of the store as needed.

Knowledge, skills, abilities, and worker characteristics include problem-solving, arithmetic calculations, interviewing, and following technical manuals. Education and experience requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, and one year or more of retail experience.

Physical requirements include the ability to perform medium work, visual requirements, and various physical activities. Working conditions involve exposure to dust, noise, temperature extremes, equipment movement hazards, electrical shock, and chemicals. The position is authorized to purchase merchandise and supplies and order repairs on equipment.

Contacts include daily interaction with customers, employees, suppliers/vendors, and the general public, with occasional contact with federal or state regulatory agencies. Confidentiality includes access to pricing, sales reports, profit and loss reports, and wages.
