Entertainment Manager / Audio Engineer - Island Oaks

The Manager of Entertainment must be a self-motivated, service-driven leader who understands hospitality and takes pride in fostering a welcoming, vibrant community atmosphere.

The Manager of Entertainment may serve as Front of House / Audio Engineer (Audio 1) for day-to-day internal live performances and support occasional external client or tenant events as needed. The role also assists with the design, equipment selection, programming, and operation of entertainment audio/visual systems used throughout the property.

Responsibilities may include troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving audio connection issues across the property to ensure seamless experiences for guests, residents, and performers. This position as needed oversees third party and / or internal crews responsible for installing, operating, and striking A/V equipment and staging, while modeling service excellence and sharing best practices with the team.

This position reports to the Senior Director of Programming – Entertainment.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute live entertainment performances, resident activities, and special events that enhance the overall guest and resident lifestyle experience.
  • Collaborate closely with property leadership, maintenance, security, and other departments to ensure smooth, safe, and enjoyable activations.
  • May serve as an Audio Engineer for daily live performances, ensuring clear, consistent sound and a polished production environment.
  • Anticipate audio, lighting, and video needs to proactively support entertainers, instructors, and activities.
  • Manage and supervise personnel within the Activities Department, ensuring engaging and well-run lifestyle programming to include but not limited to, karaoke, bingo, dance classes, and themed events.
  • Supervise additional staff and crews supporting special events on a case-by-case basis.
  • Oversee the operation, maintenance, safety, security, and quality of all audio, lighting, and video equipment in alignment with organizational brand and service standards.
  • Provide warm, attentive service that exceeds the expectations of guests, residents, performers, and internal partners.
  • Ensure all team members present a friendly, professional, and guest-focused image.
  • Support Environmental, Health & Safety initiatives by following all established policies, procedures, and training requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the overall guest experience.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in entertainment, events, and / or hospitality-focused operations.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to meet attendance, grooming, and appearance standards in a guest-facing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead talent and teams of various sizes with a positive, service-oriented approach.
  • Commitment to staying current with entertainment technology and guest experience trends.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Basic math skills with practical application.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical school training or Associate's Degree (AA).
  • 5+ years of experience in entertainment, live events, and / or hospitality environments.
