This role is part of our Youth & Recreational Sports group, comprised of technology platforms such as SportsEngine HQ, SportsEngine Motion, SportsEngine Play and SportsEngine Tourney. We enable athletes, parents, coaches and team administrators in the youth and recreational space to manage their organizations, collect payments, share schedules, find programs to participate in and connect with other families. Additionally, NCSI enables leagues and organizations to properly screen and train coaches in an effort to keep kids safe.

NBC Sports Next is hiring a Director of Account Management who will report to the Vice President of Sales & Account Management. This role will lead a team focused on helping our clients succeed and driving long-term growth. This role is all about building strong relationships, improving how we work, and finding smart ways to grow the business while working closely with senior leaders to align on strategy.

Job Duties

  • Team Leadership & Development
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by building and leading a high-performing team that encourages, evaluates, and implements innovative ideas and solutions.
    • Recruit, develop, and retain top talent while driving career advancement and succession planning across the organization.
    • Conduct regular performance assessments to measure team effectiveness, engagement, and development progress.
  • Strategic & Operational Management
    • Collaborate on the development of annual budgets, compensation plans, and goal setting aligned with corporate financial objectives.
    • Evaluate and optimize resource allocation to meet productivity goals while managing costs effectively.
    • Standardize service level expectations, roles, and responsibilities across the team and in coordination with other departments.
  • Client Success & Growth
    • Ensure timely delivery of high-quality outcomes that exceed client expectations.
    • Develop and implement scalable customer success programs with measurable goals, including segment-specific strategies, training, and marketing initiatives.
    • Cultivate strategic relationships with key clients and partners to drive long-term value and growth.
  • Go-to-Market Strategy
    • Design and execute GTM strategies that exceed annual targets for customer acquisition, activation, retention, and product line expansion.
    • Collaborate with senior leadership on both organic and inorganic territory expansion plans.
    • Lead regular business reviews with executive leadership and direct reports to assess progress and align on strategic priorities.

Basic Requirements

  • 7+ years of go-to-market (GTM) leadership experience within a high-growth tech company, ideally with annual recurring revenue exceeding $25 million.
  • College degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proven ability to improve customer acquisition cost, team productivity, customer activation, net revenue retention, and product expansion.
  • Demonstrated success in building and scaling sales strategies and fostering a high-performance culture in dynamic, fast-paced markets.
  • Strategic thinker with a high capacity for solving complex business challenges.

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong understanding of sales engagement tools such as Outreach, SalesLoft, or InsideSales.com.
  • Charismatic, hands-on leader with exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
  • Domain expertise in SaaS sales within e-commerce or other transactional industries.
  • Strong knowledge of the youth sport landscape and industry trends.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to engage senior stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter, problem solver, and team player.

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to travel and work overtime, including weekends and holidays, sometimes with short notice.
  • Fully Remote: This position has been designated as fully remote, meaning that the position is expected to contribute from a non-NBCUniversal worksite, most commonly an employee's residence.
  • This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
