Engineering Manager (Java/Spring/Kotlin)
We are looking for an Engineering Manager. Responsibilities include Engineering & Architecture (70%), People & Project Management (30%).
In terms of technical leadership, you will:
- Design, implement, and optimize backend services using Java/Spring/Kotlin
- Lead system architecture discussions and drive technical direction for the Security Domain
- Review code, ensure coding standards, and maintain system quality
- Collaborate with Korean HQ teams to align technology and roadmap
- Improve system scalability, performance, and reliability
For people and project management, you will:
- Manage and coach 10+ engineers (BE + FE) across domains
- Set and evaluate team goals, individual OKRs/KPIs
- Lead sprint planning, delivery tracking, and code review culture
- Foster a growth-oriented, ownership-driven engineering culture
In terms of process and delivery, you will:
- Plan and deliver quarterly domain goals (security product rollout, feature releases, etc.)
- Track progress using measurable KPIs
- Communicate effectively across teams (Product, QA, Infra, and Korean stakeholders)
Your background should include:
- 8+ years of backend development experience (Java/Spring Framework)
- Proven hands-on experience with high-traffic distributed systems
- 2+ years of people management or team leadership experience
- Strong understanding of system design, scalability, and reliability
- Good English communication skills (Korean is a plus)
- Strong sense of ownership, responsibility, and result orientation
It's a big plus if you:
- Have experience with security-related backend systems
- Are familiar with Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, Redis
- Have previous experience working with Korean companies
- Are comfortable in both hands-on coding and people management
- Have PMP (Project Management Professional) certification
