This people-leader position serves as Software Engineering Product Manager (SEPM) for the Nationwide Financial (NF) Data Warehouse platform within the Integrated Digital Services (IDS) Business Solution Area.
The IDS BSA provides shared technology services for Nationwide Financial lines of business, including Annuities, Life Insurance, and Retirements Solutions. The NF data Warehouse provides Nationwide Financial data to enable Sales Reporting, Compensation, and data feeds to multiple downstream and external systems, including data integration and management across Annuities, Life, Retirement Solutions, and Corporate Solutions. It is the central hub for many of Nationwide's shared Financial Services data assets. The core data warehouse is housed on Snowflake in AWS, with inputs and outputs across NF products, Sales, Finance, and other related systems.
This leader role is accountable for all aspects of technology solution delivery including plan, build, and run functions for the application suites, including leadership for about 10 direct reports, several agile delivery lines, and offshore support from MSA (for Run support) and MCA (Managed Capacity for Build / maintenance) teams. The SEPM accountabilities include partnering on technology and business roadmaps and capability/feature delivery; leading a team of technology associates and contractors; managing supplier relationships and contracts; and maintaining secure, resilient, user-friendly applications for use by our business partners. Many NF business initiatives require supporting enhancements in the NF Data Warehouse platform, from new products and partnerships to transformational programs like Annuity Modernization and Life Simplify.
Integration today is primarily Informatica PowerCenter ETL, and a focus area will be modernizing our data acquisition, access, and integration patterns to appropriate leverage native capabilities (Snowflake data sharing, SnowPipes, etc.), APIs, event streams, Python, etc. to meet data needs in the most effective and efficient ways possible. Focus will continue on improving the resiliency and performance of critical NF data flows to meet the needs of our internal and external data consumers, as well as providing quality data into new analytic use cases and models.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to Technology Director or above. Leads a team of 5 or more technology professionals.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Undergraduate studies in management information systems, engineering, math, computer science or comparable experience and education preferred.
Experience: Six years of experience in application suite management with four years or more leading numerous teams across multiple technologies. Proven experience in empowering and building an engaged team.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Detailed understanding and knowledge of the systems development life cycle and modern methodologies, practices, tools, and techniques. Solid understanding of concepts and techniques in project delivery, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis. Ability to develop and implement roadmap strategies. Proven decision-making and problem-solving skills. Coaching and career development of team. Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge is a plus.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
