Oracle Database Administrator

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with deep expertise in performance tuning to join our team. The ideal candidate will ensure high availability, reliability and consistent performance across mission critical systems. This role requires deep Oracle database knowledge, strong communication and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. The candidate will have a continuous improvement mindset, with the desire to automate processes and reduce manual effort wherever possible.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and maintain Oracle databases to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex database performance issues across the full stack.
  • Implement and manage database security measures, including wallet and password management.
  • Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to design and optimize database solutions.
  • Lead and support database migrations, including Postgres to RDS and Oracle to cloud platforms.
  • Participate in on-call support rotation and respond to critical incidents as needed.

Technical Experience Required:

  • Oracle Database (19c and above) on Linux
  • Oracle Multitenant Architecture (CDB/PDB)
  • Oracle Grid Infrastructure, Dataguard, Goldengate, and ASM
  • Oracle Enterprise Manager (basic usage)
  • Strong understanding of Oracle Data Dictionary and Registry components
  • Experience working with Oracle Support on database-related issues
  • Basic knowledge of Oracle Exadata architecture
  • Advanced performance tuning skills: SQL profiles, SQL plan management, execution plans
  • Extended SQL traces, Database Performance Analyzer
  • Postgres database knowledge (a plus)
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Scripting skills in Bash, PL/SQL, and Python (preferred but not required)

This role does not qualify for employer-sponsored work authorization. Nationwide does not participate in the Stem OPT Extension program.
