Product Test Engineer

This is a first shift position working a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off! In the Product Test Engineer role, you will:

  • Test, troubleshoot, disposition, and perform root cause corrective action on classified & unclassified deliverable units.
  • Create, maintain and improve work instructions (e.g., test plans, load procedures).
  • Collaborate with peers, and other disciplines, to meet test process efficiency and compliance goals collectively.
  • Play an active role in assisting the team to meet quality objectives.
  • Take part in quality investigations, including RCCA and 7-Steps, as determined by the QCE.
  • Provide direct feedback to build and design processes.
  • Eliminate bottlenecks within your respective product line(s).
  • Increase utilization of test equipment.
  • Increase troubleshoot capabilities and knowledgebase.
  • Take part in ongoing collaboration regarding best practices and strategies.
  • Identify and communicate training needs and skills gaps in the teams, carrying out training and coaching as necessary.
  • Maintain compliance to all aspects of Safety.

Temporary assignment required: This position will be expected to be in Fort Wayne, IN for a month of onboarding, then travel to Wayne, NJ for 4-6 months. Details of travel can be fine tuned. After the travel period, the position would move to full time in Fort Wayne, IN.

Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full time on-site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.
