Advanced Test Engineer

As an Advanced Test Engineer at GDMS, you will have a hands-on opportunity to contribute to the development, testing, and operation of cutting-edge subsea technology.

Key Responsibilities:
- Make safety the #1 priority in the office, on the shop floor, at the dock, and offshore.
- Perform offshore testing of AUV systems to support engineering development, acceptance testing, and customer operations.
- Troubleshoot AUV issues and collaborate with other engineering groups to quickly resolve problems.
- Detailed record keeping and reporting of daily offshore activities.
- Oversee and maintain a fleet of asset AUV systems as well as the GDMS research vessel the R/V Resolution.
- Lead customer training courses on the operation and maintenance of AUV systems.
What you bring to the table:
- Strong technical skills in software, electronics, and mechanical troubleshooting, as well as a knack for hands-on repair and maintenance.
- Ability to quickly learn new software (AUV operations suite, sonar tools, etc.)
- Data processing and analysis skills
- Strong communication and technical report writing
- Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally up to 50% of the time (most travel assignments range between 1-3 weeks in length)
- Able to pass the requirements for a US Coast Guard physical examination CG-719K.
- Able to obtain a Massachusetts 1B Hoisting Engineer's License within the first 6 months of employment.
- Able to carry substantial weight, support extended work hours, and work in a wide range of weather conditions.
Workplace Options:
- This position is 95% on-site with an option to work from home on some days.
- While on-site, you will be a part of the Quincy, Massachusetts.
Target salary range: USD $105,814.00/Yr. - USD $117,387.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
