The Asian School of the Environment (ASE) at Nanyang Technological University Singapore (NTU) is an interdisciplinary school that will be a world leader in environmental research focused on Asian environmental challenges. The ASE integrates Earth and environmental sciences to build an understanding of our planet and environment and to address key issues of environmental sustainability and its impact on society.
The Research Associate will have knowledge of ecosystem services assessment, ecological engineering, social sciences, carbon policy, environmental science, and/or similar coastal environmental issues at the policy-academic interface. They will work closely with the research team for the 'Ecosystem services provided by current and future coastal defences, including recreation and education'.
Key Responsibilities:
The Research Associate will collaborate closely with the project team primarily assessing ecosystem services and supporting Principal Investigators (PIs) in meeting the objectives outlined in the project work plan. The researcher will be responsible for assisting with identification and analysis if ecosystem services, social science data collection, collation and analysis of current ecosystem services and artificial coastline data and assisting with data management. The successful applicant will assist in all aspects of the work package. This will additionally include conducting literature reviews of relevant articles and information, managing and analyzing ecological and socioeconomic datasets related to coastal ecosystem services in Singapore, and conducting field work to collect new data.
