Laundry Attendant

The purpose of the Laundry Attendant is to maintain clean linen and clothing, by washing and drying. The Attendant will also assist in providing janitorial services as needed for the wellness and wellbeing of those within The Pioneer Home. These and other miscellaneous tasks will be performed within the position using the highest regard for safety for the attendant and others.

Responsibilities

  1. Provide the highest quality of service to the customer at all times.
  2. Sort, weigh, and load linen (terry, sheets, and pillowcases, etc.) and resident personal clothes into washer and dryer.
  3. Safely operate various washers and dryers.
  4. Maintain productivity standards.
  5. Remove linen immediately from dryers to prevent wrinkles.
  6. Fold linen according to standards outlined.
  7. Place folded linen on marked shelves and transport to floor linen rooms in a timely fashion.
  8. Check washing machine drains to prevent clogging. Inform engineering if maintenance is needed.
  9. Maintain a well organized, neat laundry room.
  10. Damp mop laundry floor, clean washers and dryers, clean lint traps on a daily basis.
  11. Empty all washers and dryers and turn all machines off at completion of shift.
  12. May be cross-trained in janitorial and laundry duties and required to work those positions.
  13. Have a thorough knowledge of emergency procedures.
  14. Adhere to all work rules, procedures and policies established by the company, including, but not limited to, those contained in the associate handbook.
  15. Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit's success also may be assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • The ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, callouts, etc.
  • Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.

Customer Interaction: Minimal

Description of environment: Pioneer Home: This is located in an assisted living setting.

Physical requirements: Employee is required to lift and/or move up to 50lbs. Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk/hear, see, taste/smell, and carry weight/lift.
