Job Description:

  • Provides leadership and strategic direction for the Global Analytical Services program to ensure the business unit meets corporate expectations as executed through strategic planning, general oversight, advising on service mix and expertise development to ensure labs are providing the appropriate test offerings to support clients.
  • Maintains active engagement with the commercial teams, clients and potential clients at the business unit level.
  • Drives a global service model by proactively harmonizing laboratory processes to break down silos and deliver a united image and service message.
  • Accomplishes financial objectives by working with each global analytical laboratory to ensure forecasting and capacity needs are addressed; preparing annual budgets in partnership with finance teams; scheduling and overseeing expenditures, analyzing variances; and initiating appropriate actions to meet corporate objectives.
  • Accomplishes scientific/technical objectives by providing technical leadership and strategic direction to ensure all Analytical Services meet scientific and regulatory expectations of clients and regulators.
  • Advises Analytical Services management globally on technical and scientific issues related to NAMSA's global technical competencies.
  • Provides direction for the development, presentation and/or publication of new methods or procedures that will broaden the capability of the company and favorably affect NAMSA's reputation in the device industry.
  • Provides input to NAMSA's overall laboratory strategic business plan with attention to technical/scientific content.
  • Oversees talent management, personnel development and growth opportunities via mentoring, training plans and/or career path planning for Analytical Services program.
  • Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing organizational safety standards and adhering to local and global regulations such as but not limited to FDA, GLP, ISO.
  • Maintains a strong podium/external presence inclusive of participating/organizing industry initiatives (e.g. round robin studies), attendance at technical conferences/trade shows, and represents NAMSA in AAMI/ISO committees to develop NAMSA's brand reputation in Analytical Services

Qualifications & Technical Competencies:

  • PhD in Chemistry or Chemistry Related discipline or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 15 years closely related work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of leader of leader management experience
  • Financial management including but not limited to budget, forecasting, and P&L responsibility required
  • Experience in the medical device development process preferred.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment (i.e., FDA, JP, EU).
  • Fluency in English and local language, if different, required.
  • Project management experience.
  • Travel – 20-30%

Working Conditions:

  • Physical activities include walking, standing or sitting for prolonged periods; bending, light lifting and carrying; operating laboratory equipment, exposure to chemicals and variations of heat.
  • Administrative repetitive tasks such as typing, writing, and other fine motor movements.
  • Up to 30% travel involved.

Pay Range Minimum: $171,500.00

Pay Range Target: $230,000.00

Pay Frequency: Annual

Please Note: Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills.
