✨ About The Role
- Lead and execute complex projects across Mux's Video stack and infrastructure, handling hundreds of thousands of videos ingested and over a billion encodes per month
- Contribute to the full development cycle, including technical design, development, test, experimentation, analysis, launch & on-call responsibilities
- Take accountability for planning and delivering projects, both as a hands-on contributor and architect, and as a facilitator
- Work cross-functionally with product, customer success, and other engineering teams to execute on product and business strategy, building cutting-edge Video products
- Build & promote best practices in your team for availability, reliability, and production readiness
⚡ Requirements
- Experienced engineer with 4+ years in production Backend & Video Engineering using Golang, C, C++, or similar languages, contributing to sizable projects with end-user impact
- Skilled in building and operating distributed video systems in a service-oriented architecture, focusing on fault tolerance, latency, and observability
- Proficient in Kubernetes, monitoring tools like Grafana & Prometheus, databases such as CockroachDB, Clickhouse, & Redis, and data streaming technologies like Kafka
- Strong background in building integrated Video products using open-source libraries like ffmpeg or libav, with knowledge of video codecs, encoding, and debugging issues
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
