Team & Context:

You'll be part of one dynamic global team where you can stay true to yourself while working closely with colleagues with diverse backgrounds. The team is led by the Global Head of Legal and includes two (2) regional GCs, four (4) in-house counsel, six (6) paralegals and one other Legal Operations Officer, located in our offices in Paris, New York, Luxembourg and Singapore.

As Legal Operations Officer, you will support the Global Head of Legal in guiding and transforming the Legal Function, particularly in the upcoming reorganization of the Murex Legal Department, working closely with internal and external stakeholders and advisers.

Key responsibilities/missions:

  • Drive, coordinate and support the various Legal team projects, which include:
    • Co-ordinating the implementation of the Transformation project roadmap and related action plan, including sharing and updating schedules, co-ordinating steering and governance ceremonies and communications.
    • Supporting the deployment of digital tools, in liaison with the Legal team and other departments of the company.
    • Assisting in the redesign, improvement, and simplification of existing processes, particularly relating to policy development and updates.
    • Contributing to the expansion of the team's Knowledge Management and information governance capabilities.
    • Assisting in the development of an appropriate dashboard to monitor transformation progress and budget tracking.
  • Legal Operations Support:
    • Participation, in collaboration with the other Legal Operations Officer and other members of the Murex legal team, as defined within the framework of the Transformation project, in:
      • Organization of the Legal team governance, communication and related processes (including team meetings and offsite).
      • Organization and ongoing management of communication, collaboration and knowledge sharing tools within the department.
      • Assistance with building and managing the strategic roadmap of the Legal Function including its budget monitoring and control (internal and external costs).
      • Monitoring the major KPIs and global dashboard of the Legal Function.
      • Assistance on administrative aspects of certain legal tasks.
  • Financial and Logistic Management:
    • Financial management of Legal department budget and non-legal logistical operation of the team, which includes:
      • Coordination regarding budget matters with relevant team members and CEO office.
      • Prepare presentations and reports for executive-level meetings and strategic reviews.
      • Monitor team budget and purchases, create monthly time reports for the financial team.

Profile:

  • Significant/Solid (minimum 5 years'+) experience in operations and team management within a professional setting, ideally gained in an in-house legal context, law firm or similar legal environment.
  • Proven experience in transformation projects, ideally including the implementation and use of project management tools.
  • Budget management skills with good command of Excel and/or other budget management tools.
  • Native English speaker or fluent in English. Proficiency in French a plus.
  • Excellent organizational, project management and digital skills, with an ability to communicate clearly and effectively with internal stakeholders (including senior leadership).
  • Ability to manage timelines and prioritize tasks according to strategic importance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across teams in a multicultural, cross-border environment.
  • Recognized for dynamism, adaptability, and efficiency, with a keen eye for detail and a collaborative mindset.
