Data Platform Software Engineer
Muon Space seeks a Data Platform Software Engineer to develop/operate a robust platform for data/ML pipelines using satellite and geospatial datasets. This role involves collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, integrating scalable cloud resources and modern software practices to support climate change monitoring and mitigation initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Scale and maintain Muon's data workflow orchestration platform
- Collaborate on and improve data and ML pipelines
- Provide expert support and maintain knowledge of data platform solutions
- Collaborate with satellite and payload engineering teams to establish data requirements for MuonSpace data products
Qualifications
- Applicants are required to be U.S. persons
- 5+ years of software engineering experience
- Experience building and maintaining container orchestration software platform
- Experience using CI/CD processes for software and GitOps processes for infrastructure
- Experience using modern observability technologies for application and infrastructure monitoring
- Experience interacting with internal and external customers and service providers
Preferred Qualifications
- Building APIs at scale for data access
- Proven experience in systems analysis, troubleshooting and design, with a strong understanding of the interplay between hardware and software.
- Production experience with common geospatial data formats
- Experience working with a distributed team of developers
