NOC Engineer

The NOC Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and monitoring the network, servers, and IT infrastructure. This role involves responding to incidents, performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the optimal performance of the IT Infrastructure. The NOC Engineer will work in a team-oriented environment and provide support for various technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Network Monitoring: Continuously monitor network performance and server health using various tools and dashboards.
  • Detect, diagnose, and resolve IT infrastructure issues promptly.
  • Daily checks need to be done as part of NOC responsibilities.
  • Incident Response: Respond to server incidents, performing initial troubleshooting and escalations as needed as Per SLA.
  • Perform the outage management and document it.
  • Document incidents, actions taken, and resolutions in incident tracking systems.
  • Maintenance and Upgrades: Perform regular maintenance tasks, including system updates, patch management, and backups.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of network upgrades and expansions.
  • Troubleshooting: Analyse and resolve issues related to server, VMware and Citrix problems, backups and service related issues.
  • Collaborate with other IT staff and DC to troubleshoot and resolve hardware problems.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of projects, processes, and procedures.
  • Create and update technical manuals, standard operating procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Customer Support: Provide technical support and assistance to internal teams and customers.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates and resolve issues.
  • Performance Optimization: Analyse server/network performance data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement solutions to optimize servers performance and reliability.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred. Diploma in Computer Science and IT.

Required Skills: Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in NOC operations, system administration, VMware administration, Citrix Administration, Red hat Linux, Networking, O365 administration, MSSQL, DC management, Azure or AWS related role. Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Logic Monitor, Zabbix & PRTG). Windows Server Administration 2008R / 2012 / 2012R2 / 2016 Microsoft Office 365 Microsoft Exchange 2010 / 2013 / 2016 Backup Technologies, Veeam Backup and Replication 9/ 9.5 Zerto backup v9.7 & v10 Cohesity Backup Hypervisor - VMWare vSphere 6 / 6.5 / 6.7 Networking – Cisco, Fortigate, Meraki Cloud Services – Azure, AWS, Forcepoint Citrix – XenApp, NetScaler, Provisioning Services ITIL Red hat Linux End point protection, Sophos, and Kaspersky IT Infrastructure Monitoring tool, Logic Monitor, SolarWinds and PRTG Network monitor, Kaseya, New Relic for application monitoring. Microsoft SQL Server / 2008/2014/2016 ADFS /DFS / IIS and Print Servers Storages and SAN Devices, Dell/ QNAP/ HP Remote Server Management – Kaseya, RDP, VNC Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment with rotating shifts. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
