The HR Manager will balance strategic initiatives with hands-on operational support, ensuring that day-to-day needs are met while advancing long-term organizational goals. In addition, this position will partner closely with our Safety & Compliance, Training Institute, and Payroll & Benefits teams to ensure processes and procedures are followed and department objectives are successfully achieved.

What You Will Do:

  • Partner with managers to provide guidance on performance, engagement, employee development, and overall people management.

Employee & Labour Relations:

  • Serve as the primary HR liaison with union executives, maintaining professional and collaborative communication.
  • Address union inquiries, concerns, and grievances in alignment with collective agreements.
  • Conduct workplace investigations and recommend appropriate actions.

Compliance & Administration:

Recruitment, Engagement & Culture:

  • Plan, budget, and execute employee recognition and engagement events (e.g., holiday parties, recognition programs, social committee initiatives).

*Travel is required for this role.

What You Need To Be Successful:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or Labour Relations.
  • 5–7 years of progressive HR experience, including people leadership, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to work with unionized workforces, including interpreting collective agreements, handling grievances, and supporting labour relations.
  • Broad HR expertise in performance management, employee relations, recruitment, talent development, and compensation.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian and U.S. employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Demonstrated skills in critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making in dynamic environments.
  • Ability to coach and develop HR team members and support managers in leading engaged, high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems, payroll, Microsoft Office Suite, and reporting tools.
