Summary of Responsibility:
We are looking for a skilled and customer-focused Okuma Specialist Applications Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will apply your expertise in Okuma 3-, 4-, and 5-axis milling machines, CNC lathes, and mill-turn equipment to develop processes, support installations, and deliver exceptional training and demonstrations for our customers. You will serve as a key technical resource—bridging the gap between our machines, our sales team, and our customers' production goals.
What You Will Contribute:
- Collaborate with customers to evaluate machining needs and develop turnkey solutions
- Program and set up CNC lathes, vertical/horizontal mills and mill-turns
- Conduct on-site and in-house training for operators, programmers, and maintenance personnel
- Support pre-sale activities, including machine assessments and part processing strategies
- Maintain technical documentation, including process sheets, setup instructions, and project reports
- Ability to adapt and continuously learn new machine types and technologies to meet evolving customer and industry needs.

Qualifications & Competencies:
- Minimum 4 years' CNC machining experience
- Strong background in programming and setup of Okuma and Fanuc controls preferred but not required
- Proficiency of CAD/CAM software
- MasterCam, Esprit, Gibbs CAM, and Solidworks experience is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills
- Willingness to travel for customer visits, training, or other projects, approximately 25% of that travel may include overnights.
