The Medical Staff Services Quality Review Coordinator facilitates the Medical Staff Quality Review Committee's quality and peer review process as defined by Monument Health's Hospital Bylaws and Medical Staff Bylaws, TJC, CMS and SD State Statutes. Conducts reviews for quality indicator outliers and manages the Medical Staff Department's review process (Departmental or MS Peer Review). Performs data compilation and reporting, facilitates the PPE process in coordination with MSS Director and Medical Staff Leaders, and coordinates with Hospital Quality systematizing quality initiative. Provides support to the Medical Staff Department in risk management process.

Essential Functions: Fully supports the Medical Staff approved PPE (FPPE/OPPE & proctorship) process, monitors quality indicator outliers, provides reports to appropriate stakeholders and manages the recovery process, manages all processes for RC's MSQRPIC Performance Improvement Process as recommended in the peer review process, manages the risk mitigation/complaint process for the Department. Completes investigations of risk occurrences and complaints and enters results in the database and reports results to the MSS Department and Medical Staff Director and Medical Staff Leadership as appropriate, facilitates and scribes committee and departmental meetings as assigned. All other duties as assigned.
Additional Requirements Required: Bachelors degree in a clinical field or equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered to satisfy this requirement (examples of related field would be Respiratory Therapist, Physical Therapist). Certification - appropriate state licensure based on clinical field; Lean belt certification current or plan to acquire within appropriate timeframe. Preferred: Certification - Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS); Experience - 1+ years of Audit/Compliance Experience; 1+ years of Quality Assurance/Improvement Experience; 3+ years of Clinical Experience. Physical Requirements: Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
