As a Staff Engineer working on the Stream Control Plane, you will be a technical expert working alongside skilled engineers as part of a cross functional team that delivers highly reliable and scalable software to drive customer value and satisfaction. This role is equal parts research and development. As an Active Member Of Our Team, You Will...

  • Develop software that powers the reliable and scalable operation of Cribl Stream such as deployment, configuration, and orchestration of distributed nodes at high scale
  • Work with a cross functional team of engineers, product managers, and designers to translate feature requirements into technical designs and implementable code
  • Develop, test, and maintain robust code that effectively delivers customer value
  • Work closely with peers to provide feedback on design and code reviews
  • Take the lead on feature development while balancing the responsibilities of high quality software development and delivering value quickly to our customers
  • Develop automated tests and comprehensive test plans to ensure high quality code and product features that work as expected
  • Champion teamwork, engineering best practices, and a customer focused mindset
  • Provide technical and thought leadership to the products and tools that we deliver
  • Introduce performance and efficiency improvements across our products and processes
  • Mentor and coach junior engineers on the team
  • Engage our users by contributing to internal and external blogs that relate to the products you help develop
  • Help maintain and support our SaaS products including periodic participation in our 24x7 on-call rotations
  • This position will require stand-by, on-call, or off-hours duties

If you've got it - we want it...

  • Led multiple projects end-to-end (design to production) with hands-on coding contributions
  • Hands-on experience developing products/services that run on large scale distributed systems in Cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Has built and used production-ready, highly scalable, highly reliable APIs (e.g. REST, RPC)
  • Experience with production on-call and incident response
  • Experience using Javascript test frameworks (e.g. Codecept, Mocha, Cypress, Jest) and CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins)
  • Knowledge/experience in data streaming & transformation, high volume telemetry, logs, metrics and observability
  • Expert knowledge of Node, TypeScript, JavaScript, other languages will be considered as well.
  • Experience working in startup/fast-paced work environments, Agile software development, remote/hybrid work

Salary Range ($190,000 - $235,000) The salary for this role is dependent on geographic location. The salary offered within the range described will be based on the individual candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
