RF Test Engineer

Responsibilities include:

  • Test development and execution – create and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts for RF components and systems.
  • Execute RF tests using various test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, network analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
  • Perform manual and automated testing to verify RF performance parameters including frequency, power, modulation, and signal integrity.
  • Define test objectives, criteria, and methodologies to validate RF performance.
  • Compliance and Standards – ensure RF designs and products comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., FCC, ETSI). Stay updated with the latest RF technologies and standards.
  • Documentation and reporting – maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of test procedures, results, and equipment calibration.
  • Contribute to the development of technical documentation and user manuals.
  • Occasional travel to support field testing or collaborate with other sites may be required.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • U.S. Citizen and the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience with RF test principles, RF testing, validation and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with RF design and development processes.
  • Experience with wireless communication standards (e.g., LTE, 5G, Wi-Fi).
  • Certification in RF engineering or related field (e.g., CWNE, CCNA Wireless).
  • Proven experience with RF test equipment and measurement techniques.
  • Experience in developing test procedures.
  • Create, run, and maintain detailed test plans for RF components and systems.
  • Utilize various RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, network analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
  • Verify RF performance.
  • Analyze test data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.
  • Generate comprehensive test reports and present findings to project stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of RF principles, including antennas, propagation, and modulation techniques.
  • Proficiency in using RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and network analyzers.
  • Experience with automated test equipment (ATE) and scripting languages (e.g., Python, LabVIEW) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of RF simulation tools (e.g., ADS, CST) is beneficial.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and accuracy.

Desired:

  • Master's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • Experience working with systems-of-systems.
  • Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work on tight deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills – both written and verbal.

The proposed salary range for this position is: $60,100 - $123,200.
