Refrigeration Engineer In Training Or Designer

As a Refrigeration Engineer In Training or Designer you will work individually, with senior engineers and with Project Managers in developing refrigeration system designs. This position performs calculations, selects components, and produces construction documents for systems specified by the Project Engineer. This role may act as Project Engineer for small projects.

The expected salary range for this position is $65,000 to $75,000 annually.

Required qualifications include:

• Bachelors degree or Associates degree in Mechanical Engineering, or other related degree and/or equivalent experience
• 2 to 5+ years of project experience
• Basic knowledge of Autodesk MEP Revit, Auto CADD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Outlook
• Basic knowledge of refrigeration systems and knowledge of (standard DX system, CO2 system and advanced hybrid)
• Basic knowledge of calculations
• High level of collaboration and communication

Position responsibilities include:

• Performing engineering analysis and design calculations
• Analyzing product literature, specifications and selecting major system components
• Producing plans, sections, details, specifications, and schedules
• Preparing estimates, comparing with client requirements
• Planning projects and coordinating with other consultants
• Integrating all elements into design for client review and approval
• Providing basic research into jurisdictional requirements
• Providing and implementing basic code research
• Performing engineering studies and preparing reports
• Electronically drafting plans, schedules, profiles, surveys, diagrams, and details under the direction of the Project Engineer
• Drawing input, set up and red line correction changes
• Site travel

Things to note

• Actual pay will be determined based on the candidates years of experience, licensure status, location, level of proficiency, and other job-related factors (as permitted by law). This position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus.
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Cushing Terrell will not sponsor applicants for work visas.
• The majority of the time, a person in this role will be sitting in an office with limited physical requirements. This may require individuals to bend, stretch, twist, and reach.
