The Bozeman-based MilTech Project Engineer II will utilize their strong project management experience, knowledge of government programs and projects, and familiarity with relevant State of Montana statutes and processes to ensure MilTech delivery teams successfully meet all project deliverables and customer expectations. This position is expected to regularly and simultaneously support a minimum of 3-5 active projects. Duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD National Security Clearance and Common Access Card (CAC). Demonstrated project management experience of complex projects including the following:
Demonstrated experience working with MilTech and MSU finance and contracting processes. Demonstrated familiarity with government programs and terminology.
Represent MilTech in a professional manner when interacting with all stakeholders and personnel. Effectively execute all tasks to meet MilTech expectations for government partner engagement and relationship development and management. Possess excellent communication skills, communicating effectively both orally and in writing. Be a self-starter who can work independently to identify, plan, organize, manage and execute projects and tasks, while understanding and aligning to team leadership goals. Be highly detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to rapidly respond to inquiries and requests. Possess the ability to quickly identify problems and formulate possible solutions. Be motivated to seek out information that enhances your understanding of MilTech projects. Exhibit good judgment, flexibility and innovation to respond to the needs of a wide variety of clients.
This position is contingent upon continued grant funding and is based in the Bozeman, MT, office. This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD National Security Clearance and Common Access Card (CAC), and/or meet other government-defined restrictions appropriate for work level and access. Other security-related requirements will include receiving favorable background checks by state and federal agencies pursuant to federal law and regulations. Successful candidate must be able to comply with the federally mandated requirements of U.S. export control laws, which may require proof that candidate is a U.S. person. Per 22 CFR §120.15, U.S. person means a person who is a lawful permanent resident as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(20) or who is a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3). This position requires ability to travel via all modes of transport when necessary to interact with DOD and/or DHS customers, including travel throughout the Continental United States as well as Alaska, Hawaii, U.S territories and possessions, and possibly other worldwide locations.
