Supports IT strategic initiatives for the clinical, business, and operational systems in a cost-effective, high-quality manner. Responsible for application planning, design, and architecture to ensure a highly reliable and integrated systems. Also responsible for providing application expertise and resources required for ongoing operational improvement, implementation, and support. Ensures the successful installation, use, and support of software in SPH initiatives. Responsible for contributing to the SPH IT strategic plan to keep abreast of changing market and business needs as they relate to clinical, financial, or regulatory items. Provides leadership and coordination with SPH hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, clinics, or other identified eligible recipients of IT services to ensure synchronicity of their needs with SPH strategic efforts and local initiatives. Maintains, supports, and upgrades existing applications. Participates and/or leads IT Governance efforts to manage IT capacity to the right strategic demand. Plans, coordinates, and supervises all activities related to the design, development, and implementation of organizational information systems and software applications. Facilitates application standardization wherever possible. Maintains application portfolio and systems documentation standards. Works with IT and organizational leadership to rationalize/reduce local applications. Ensures that tactical plans support and complement the achievement of the SPH strategy and initiative. Identifies opportunities for continued standardization and assist implement cost saving initiatives. Creates and fosters a "customer centric" service in the delivery of application related products and services. Ensures that the original design principles are maintained and that information and software applications are continually improved. Acts as a final decision point on all IT-related matters (strategic and technical) affecting the SPH application service center.
Knowledge/Experience: 5-10 years in a healthcare applications role responsible for clinical, financial, and/or regulatory applications, their selection, implementation, and life cycle support required. Thorough knowledge of application vendors and products utilized in healthcare required. Well-developed skills in strategic information systems planning and implementation required. Experience in information system business and/or clinical processes and functions in the acute, sub-acute, outpatient, and clinic setting required.
Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science/Business Administration or Healthcare required. Master's degree preferred.

Attributes: Deep understanding and proven track record over several years in IT strategy delivery, and excellent awareness of the strategic goals and ability to define and influence those goals.
