Under the leadership of the department director and their assigned supervisor, the food service worker II has a variety of duties. Duties may include but are not limited to: dishwashing, pot washing, environmental cleaning, sanitation and waste disposal, bussing of tables, delivery and retrieval of patient trays and/or carts, delivery of food and non-food supplies, stocking of food and non-food supplies, basic food/beverage production, and assembling meal trays. Food service worker II may also be responsible for taking food/beverage orders, operating the point of sale (POS) system, completing financial transactions, reconciling cash drawers and resolving customer complaints.
Experience: Fluency, the ability to communicate orally, and the ability to read and write in English is required. Passing a basic reading and math test is required. Working quickly and accurately is required. Excellent customer service skills are required. Basic food/beverage production skills are required.
Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education or experience in related field required.
Licensure/Certifications: California Food Handler's card at the time of hire or within three (3) months of employment. Live Scan fingerprint clearance required by the Department of Healthcare Services is a job requirement.
