In this role, you would be responsible for:
Designing, documenting, and optimizing production processes to deliver excellence in phone refurbishment and repair operations
Analyzing Care Centre processes and proposing MES (Manufacturing Execution System) requirements and optimization plans
Conducting process improvement initiatives including layout planning and workflow optimization at refurbishment facilities
Analyzing systematic failures in operations, developing improvement plans, and following up on implementation results
Championing and practicing 6S Kaizen principles to drive continuous improvement culture
Developing and executing strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall operations
Analyzing process data to identify bottlenecks and implement data-driven solutions
Troubleshooting process-related issues and maintaining high operational functionality
Organizing, coordinating, and managing daily and weekly team engagement activities within the Care Centre
Collaborating with engineering, quality assurance, and production teams to resolve inter-department blockers
Providing training and skill assessments for new and incumbent personnel to build a high-performing team
Identifying, documenting, and reporting unsafe practices, faulty operations, and product imperfections
Reporting work progress and operational anomalies to management in a timely manner
Maintaining comprehensive documentation and communication with cross-functional teams
This is a role based in Nairobi, Kenya and if successful, you would be reporting to the Head of Manufacturing at M-KOPA.

Your application should demonstrate:
Degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, or related field
Proven experience in the electrical engineering field with focus on process optimization
Strong knowledge of Kaizen 6S Principles and continuous improvement methodologies
Superb analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with data-driven approach
Understanding of production machinery, proper assembly procedures, and manufacturing safety protocols
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics
Strong leadership abilities with experience coaching, training, and developing teams
Superb written and verbal communication skills with ability to work across departments
Proficiency in MS Office and data analysis tools
Fast learner with ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Great attention to detail and organizational skills with excellent time management
Proficiency in C+ and .Net languages is desirable
Familiarity with databases such as SQL Server and Oracle
Experience working with MES (Manufacturing Execution System) is preferred
Experience in smartphone production processes and repair is an added advantage
