The Boeing Company is currently seeking an Entry-Level DevSecOps Engineer (Virtual) to support our Emulation team located in Berkeley, Missouri. This position will focus on supporting the larger Boeing Engineering Test & Technology (ET&T) business organization. Within the Fabric organization, the Emulation team develops and delivers virtual hardware solutions to Embedded Software teams across all of Boeing reducing the reliance on physical hardware. This job indirectly supports several high visibility Boeing programs across Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS), Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA), and Boeing Global Services (BGS) and is a good opportunity to have exposure to many different teams across Boeing.
+ Gathers information to develop, document and maintain standardized, efficient processes, tools, methodologies, and performance metrics to streamline the software engineering lifecycle and enable continuous integration, delivery, and deployment of safety critical software.
+ Assists to automate, develop, monitor, improve and troubleshoot across software engineering development, tooling, testing, integration, deployment, configuration processes, and security controls.
+ Aids and provides information to analyze, plan, and execute mitigation strategies to prevent potential security risks, threats, and vulnerabilities.
+ Assists to implement an environment that enables high levels of quality, safety, compliance, and continuous improvement across the organization.
+ Provides data to support collaboration with cross functional teams to build and maintain robust, scalable, and secure software engineering systems.
+ Assists to implement current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and regulations in the software engineering DevSecOps environment.
+ Experience with any of the following software development languages: Ada, C, C++, C#, JAVA, and Python
+ Experience with software tools, software troubleshooting, and scripting
+ Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
+ Experience in Windows, Linux and real-time operating systems.
+ Experience in Cloud technologies, e.g. AWS.
+ Knowledge of cloud architecture, including the different types of clouds (public, private, and hybrid), the different cloud platforms and the various components involved (computing, storaging and networking). Ability to automate and script skills. Knowledge of containerization technologies which includes understanding how to manage containers, deploy applications in a containerized environment, and troubleshoot issues. Knowledge of understanding of networking concepts, including IP addressing, subnetting, routing, and security (focus on security best practices and technologies).
+ Knowledge of cultural philosophies, practices and tools required for continuous integration and continuous delivery to deliver applications and services with increased velocity and in line with security requirements.
+ Knowledge of host environments, including processors, operating systems and networks. Ability to build, integrate and troubleshoot software components.
+ Knowledge of software programming languages and databases and the ability to apply to the software domain. Programming languages encompass higher order languages, auto-coded languages and assembly languages.
+ Ability to design and develop automation of software tests, execute automated tests, track results, manage test data, and utilize results to improve software quality.
+ Ability to understand the big picture and the inter-relationships of all positions and activities in the system, including the impact of changes in one area on another area. This includes the ability to see and understand the inter-relationships between components of systems and plans, anticipate future events, and apply the principles of systems thinking to accelerate performance.
