Electrical Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to work on industrial projects, including the design of power distribution, lighting, and grounding systems. Projects range from small facility modifications to complex EPC contracts in industries such as pulp and paper, chemicals, food and beverage, consumer products, or pharmaceuticals. Some travel to project and construction sites will be required.

Responsibilities:

• Design power system facilities and equipment and coordinate construction, operation, and maintenance of electric power generating, receiving, and distribution stations, and distribution systems and equipment.
• Develop conceptual layouts and sketches to ensure the most efficient design on a project-by-project basis.
• Participate in the planning, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating detailed phases of electrical engineering projects.
• Develop equipment specifications and construction specifications, as well as contractor scope of work documents.
• Direct preparation of or prepare drawings and specify the type of equipment and materials to be used in construction and equipment installation.
• Inspect completed installations to ensure conformance with design and equipment specifications and safety standards.
• Produce work products such as one-line diagrams, wiring drawings, panel layout drawings, motor schematics, instrument loop sheets, conduit and tray routing drawings, and contractor scope documents.
• Work with systems and equipment grounding requirements, including high resistance, building, and isolated grounding.
• Provide on-site start-up support.

Essential Skills:

• Extensive experience in electrical engineering, specifically in power generation and electrical design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical.
• Experience with design and installation of medium and low-voltage distribution equipment.
• Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards (NEC, ANSI, NEMA, NFPA).
• Capability to handle onsite plant projects with minimal supervision.

• Capability with CAD systems, including AutoCAD.
• Possession of a PE license or EIT certificate, or the ability to obtain a PE license, is preferred but not required.

This role involves working on-site at various project and construction locations. You will collaborate with client engineers and maintenance teams, requiring strong communication and teamwork skills. The position demands a high level of organization to meet deadlines and operate within budgets effectively.

Job Type & Location: This is a Permanent position based out of Kansas City, MO.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $145000.00 - $145000.00/yr.
