CMDB Architect – ServiceNow

LRS Consulting Services is seeking a CMDB Architect in ServiceNow for a contract opportunity with our client. This CMDB Architect with expertise in ServiceNow will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of our client's Configuration Management Database and related processes. This role will focus on ensuring accurate configuration data, developing integration strategies, and enabling effective IT Service Management (ITSM) and IT Operations Management (ITOM). The CMDB Architect will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive data integrity, automation, and visibility across the enterprise.

Day to day responsibilities:

• Design, architect, and implement the ServiceNow CMDB to support ITSM and ITOM processes, ensuring alignment with business objectives
• Define CMDB data models, CI classes, and relationships to meet organizational requirements
• Establish governance frameworks, standards, and best practices for configuration management and data quality
• Lead efforts to ensure the CMDB integrates seamlessly with discovery tools, service mapping, and other data sources
• Develop and implement data reconciliation, normalization, and data enrichment strategies
• Partner with IT operations, application, and infrastructure teams to maintain CI data accuracy and lifecycle management
• Provide guidance on discovery patterns, event correlation, and service mapping architecture
• Create and maintain detailed documentation for CMDB architecture, design decisions, and workflows
• Support audits and compliance efforts by ensuring configuration data integrity and traceability
• Mentor ServiceNow developers and administrators on CMDB-related best practices

Qualifications:

• Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience with ServiceNow, including 3+ years focused on CMDB architecture and design
• Experience with ServiceNow Discovery, Service Mapping, and ITOM module
• Knowledge of CMDB CI class structures, relationships, and best practices for data modeling
• ServiceNow certifications such as Certified Implementation Specialist – CMDB, ITOM, or System Administrator preferred
• Strong analytical skills and ability to translate business requirements into technical designs
• Excellent leadership skills for working across multiple stakeholders
• Candidate must be able to effectively communicate in English (written & verbal)

The base range for this contract position is $80.00 - $105.00 per hour, depending on experience. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
