This position assists the Civil Engineer in the application of principles, methods, and techniques of civil engineering technology by performing routine and complex engineering technician related work for environmental, water, sewer, street, and other public works projects and programs and computer aided drafting and design. Work is performed under the direction of an Engineer and the Director of Public Works in accordance with policies and procedures as defined by the County Council and requires independent judgment, discretion, and tact in the resolution of sensitive and controversial issues. Work is reviewed for operational efficiency, cost effectiveness, and compliance with applicable Federal, State, and Local laws.
