Admissions & Customer Service Specialist

This position exists to provide accurate and timely processing of applications and admissions forms and documents, maintain data integrity, and provide excellent customer service to guide prospective, current, and returning students through the admissions process. The incumbent works collaboratively with Student and Academic Affairs, Marketing, and other departments to support outreach and enrollment goals, and to provide clear, consistent information about the College's opportunities and services. The Admissions and Customer Service Specialist exercises independent judgment, ensure compliance with policies and practices, and maintains confidentiality of all applicant information. In addition, this position serves as an information specialist to all visitors to Central Lakes College and to perform duties in support of the day-to-day operations of Student Services departments.

Salary Range: $20.76-$27.53/hr, $43,347-$57,483 annually

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Data entry and database management skills sufficient to enter and retrieve data accurately and efficiently.
  • Standard computer software skills sufficient to create, format, edit, print, and save a variety of documents in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Spreadsheet skills sufficient to create, manipulate and analyze information in a computerized spreadsheet.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with internal and external partners both verbally and in written correspondence.
  • Skill in customer service sufficient to respectfully engage with clients, coworkers, and customers when handling difficult or complex problems and resolving escalated complaints or disputes.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Associate's degree or higher.
  • One (1) year of experience working in a college admissions office or related student services area.
  • Experience using a student information system, such as ISRS or Workday.
  • Knowledge of Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU) admissions and enrollment policies, US Department of Education rules, FERPA, and the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act (MGDPA).
  • Knowledge of the transfer credit evaluation processes and systems, such as DARS.
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of private information in compliance with laws, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities and timelines.
  • Good organizational skills needed to sort information, and place forms and student documents in the correct order and put them in correct placement.
  • Experience working with diverse and underrepresented student populations.
  • Interview techniques sufficient to obtain information from a varied clientele in order to refer campus information requests.

Work Shift (Hours / Days of work): 8 hours/day, 8:00-4:30, Monday-Friday
