Job Description

Anoka-Ramsey's Nursing and Allied Health programs strive to provide an inclusive and student-centered, educational environment. Through a focus on academic excellence, and in collaboration with community partners, the programs develop clinically and professionally competent graduates for careers in nursing and allied health fields (including but not limited to physical therapist assistants, pharmacy technicians, massage therapists).

The Nursing and Allied Health Lab Manager supports Nursing and Allied Health in specific ways. In Nursing, the lab manager supports the program by overseeing the daily operations, development, and strategic planning of nursing skills and simulation labs across both campuses. This position facilitates positive learning experiences for students by providing support through guidance and mentoring in a lab environment to promote student success. This includes facilitating the lab staff to set-up learning environments, assist students in the lab, monitor student activity and provide feedback to faculty regarding student progress, and completion of required lab experiences. This position assists in coordinating remediation and re-testing by lab faculty with the appropriate faculty member, course, and program competencies to ensure student success. This position establishes and maintains congruity between the nursing labs on the Coon Rapids and Cambridge Campuses and serves as the lead worker for the staff in both labs.

For both Nursing and Allied Health, this position oversees the supply procurement process, inventory control and management, and supply distribution to departments on both campus in collaboration with facilities for delivery to Cambridge. This year-round position ensures the Nursing and Allied Health Program labs are safe, well-equipped, and student-ready at the start of the fall and spring semesters.

This position involves recruitment, orientation, and community engagement activities such as career exploration days and open houses as well as attending orientations and bootcamp. They will coordinate and present lab demonstrations to prospective students and families and promote the Nursing and Allied Health Programs by showcasing lab capabilities and simulation technology.

This position will be open through May 15, 2026. However, those that apply by April 6, 2026, will be considered first.

Minimum Qualifications

  • RN with an unencumbered license in good standing and previous work experience as an RN.
  • Skillful with nursing procedures and techniques, ability to learn the latest in nursing technology and the ability to convey updates to constituents, including education and facilitation of simulation as an instructional method.
  • Previous experience with procurement, budget management, inventory management and/or cost saving practices.
  • Experience as a lead worker utilizing organizational and management skills.
  • The knowledge of professional laboratory principles, techniques, and operation of lab equipment to successfully manage the labs.
  • Ability to develop processes and procedures for the use of nursing labs to ensure the safety of faculty, students, and staff.
  • Interpersonal communication skills to connect with potential nursing and allied health students and promote the programs at recruitment events

Preferred Qualification

  • Evidence of commitment to the success of culturally, ethnically, and racially diverse populations of students, staff, and faculty.
  • Ability to listen, perform nursing assessments, and offer support and encouragement to students.
  • Has an understanding of how nursing and allied health work together to promote optimal health
  • Ability to evaluate current processes within the nursing lab and recommend new processes or practices.
