IT Tech Specialist

This position is for the IT Tech Specialist, which is a Non-Exempt Onsite position in the commercial navigation software team. As an IT Tech Specialist here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for providing technical support and troubleshooting services to ensure the smooth operation of our IT systems specific to Comm Nav Software. You will split your time supporting Commercial Navigation IT infrastructure as well as site specific IT needs. Your expertise in IT hardware and software will be crucial in resolving technical issues and maintaining the efficiency of our technology infrastructure. In this role, you will have a direct impact on the productivity and effectiveness of our organization by ensuring that our IT systems are running smoothly and efficiently. Your technical skills and problem-solving abilities will be instrumental in resolving technical issues and providing excellent customer support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware (legacy and next gen) and software issues.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and software.
  • Submit IT tickets and be the POC for coordinating IT tickets with the global IT/CMADS team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of IT systems and data.
  • Document and maintain IT procedures and processes.
  • Operational support of on premise and regional technology including virtualized workloads and networks.
  • Facilitate the implementation of new technology stacks and migration of workloads.
  • Provide escalation and supplier management to Site & Business.
  • Support the business case development, IT transformation, and service optimization initiatives.
  • Ensure full adoption and implementation of Honeywell standards, tools, processes, and strict adherence to Honeywell policies.
  • Partner effectively across teams, suppliers and business customers on cross-functional projects and process improvements.
  • Participate in site leadership meetings as an on-site focal.

You Must Have:

  • At least 5 years of experience in an IT technical support or a related role.
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of IT hardware and software.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Knowledge of Service Management platforms and/or methodology.
  • Possess strong knowledge on Windows Server 2019/2016/2012 OS, or RHEL LINUX -8.X and
  • Virtualization technologies such as VXRail, vSAN, and VCF/NSX.
  • Ensure the Comm Nav lab is well maintained (5S).
  • Demonstrate strong initiative and ownership in resolving critical IT issues.

We Value:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in operational support of enterprise infrastructure ecosystem.
  • Experience with DevOps toolchains and working knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Bamboo/Docker/Jenkins.
  • Taking initiative to actively seek out improvement initiatives.
  • Tool scripting experience in python, bash etc.
  • Experience with multiple Operating Systems such as Windows, Linux.
  • Certifications in relevant IT technologies.
  • Experience in providing customer support.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • CCNA certification (CCNP desired, but not required)

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization. The annual base salary range for this position is $73,700- $92,200. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
