As an Operations Support Specialist, you will play a key role in overseeing and managing the sites asset management requirement and supporting the development and implementation of the sites continuity plan to maintain operational efficiency and preparedness.
Organizational Location: This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, within Office of Human Capital and Training and are assigned based on the need of the agency. The responsibilities described are for the full performance level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope performed with less independence, and limited complexity.
Provides oversight and management of daily operations for Emergency Management functions and responsibilities outlined by management directives. Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders for program success; briefings, projects, events, administrative challenges
Performs data analysis to identify trends and asses program performance or address problem areas. Manages asset systems, maintains accurate inventories, and oversees the distribution and life cycle of assets. Oversees facility operations by managing project tracking for building issues and serving as a liaison between facility teams and building occupants.

Probationary Period: You may be required to serve a probationary period of 1 year.
The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 11/26/2025. Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 11/26/2025.
GS-11: You qualify at the GS-11 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties: Experiencing and supporting resource management and operational activities. Providing knowledge or policies and procedures related to emergency preparedness. Ability to assist in resolving routine operational issues to maintain efficiency. Building effective working relationship to achieve organizational goals.
OR You may substitute a doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent degree) or three (3) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in any field, or L.L.M. if related for experience at the GS-11 grade level.
GS-12: You qualify at the GS-12 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties: Providing asset management systems to support inventory tracking and operational needs. Serving as a primary contact to assist with emergency response. Identifying and addressing site needs to ensure efficient operations. Collaborating with stakeholders to support organizational goals.
