Job Opportunity: Occupational Therapist

This position offers therapy services to patients of all ages, including evaluation, assessment, treatment, education, and consultation to improve patients' abilities to their highest possible level. Services are provided as part of a care team assembled to assure optimal clinical and financial outcomes, under the direction of Essentia Health management and the referring physician.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provides therapy evaluation, treatment planning, treatment, patient/caregiver education, and discharge planning for a full caseload of patients
• Treats patients in both the inpatient and outpatient setting
• Works with patients ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics, from neuro rehab to ortho rehab, and performs wheelchair assessments and cognition evaluations
• Works closely with a team of OTs and PTs in the inpatient setting and OTs in the outpatient setting
• Provides all ancillary/administrative requirements for a full caseload of patients, including documentation, billing, scheduling management, and other administrative duties
• Demonstrates appropriate communication, professionalism, and supervision of support staff (licensed assistants, aides, volunteers) and complies with all organization policies
• Complies with organization code of conduct and meets professional organization core values, code of ethics, and/or scope of practice
• Works where the patient need is highest (including flexing to other departments) when home department schedule allows
• Provides staff education, participates/leads committee groups, participates in staff onboarding/orientation
• May serve as a clinical instructor, participates in department or therapy discipline committees, and completes credential/certification that would benefit patient care
• Weekday and weekend coverage needed

Educational Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree, or Doctorate Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program

Certification/Licensure Requirements:

• Current state licensure as Occupational Therapist

Compensation Range: $34.58 - $51.87 / hour
