Manufacturing Engineer

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will take on full manufacturing responsibility, guiding products through prototype, pilot, and production stages. You will oversee the implementation of customer documentation changes and manage internal change orders. Your role includes reporting on the status of New Product Launch (NPL) activities and utilizing statistical tools to lead quality improvements within the customer team.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive internal and external corrective action plans.
  • Actively participate in new customer and business development.
  • Analyze line return information to understand and drive corrective action on manufacturing process issues.
  • Perform product-level assessments as required.
  • Perform Design for Manufacturability and collaborate with Test Engineering on Design for Testability.
  • Assist in developing project proposals and associated cost estimates.
  • Execute transitional manufacturing requirements and process approaches for products.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of customer products to support transitional activities.

Essential Skills:

  • Expertise in manufacturing engineering, lean six sigma, and green belt.
  • Experience in electronics manufacturing.
  • Must hold a Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a manufacturing engineer in a production setting.
  • Ability to solve and document moderately complex cross-departmental issues using structured problem-solving tools.
  • Proficiency in written and oral communication and presentation skills for internal and external customers.

Work Environment:

The position is based in Rochester, MN. You will work in a dynamic environment that requires flexibility and adaptability. The role may involve occasional travel and collaboration with diverse teams to achieve project goals.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rochester, MN.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
