This position is eligible for telework for applicants who reside in Minnesota or in a bordering state, with supervisory approval and satisfactory performance. If you live in a state bordering Minnesota, you must live within 50 miles or less from the primary work location to be eligible for telework. Approximately 35% travel and overnights to provide supervision and oversight of licensors.
This position exists to supervise statewide licensing of mental health, substance use disorder, and children's residential facilities licensed by the Department of Human Services (DHS). This includes supervising staff who conduct inspections and investigations related to licensing, evaluating and approving licensing actions, developing policies, processes, and tools to most efficiently complete the work, and interacting with multiple stakeholders to promote understanding of the licensing processes and compliance with the regulations.
Demonstrated leadership experience
Leadership experience can include:
Monitor and evaluate the work of staff through participation in and observation of licensing inspections and investigations of programs.
Work and communicate effectively with a wide range of people of varying backgrounds and with people who have varying levels of understanding of the subject matter.
Provide technical assistance to and respond to questions from counties and private agencies, license holders.
Develop plans, including changing existing procedures and policies, to implement changes in state law or rule or to address changes from the policy/program divisions.
Present licensing information at conferences and to stakeholder groups
Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures.
