Human Resources Business Partner

LifeSource is hiring a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to serve as a key advisor and collaborator to leadership within LifeSource, aligning people strategies with the organization’s mission to save and heal lives through organ and tissue donation. This role supports a highly specialized workforce including clinical recovery teams, family services, and transplant coordination, as well as corporate functions, ensuring HR practices foster resilience, compliance, and excellence in a 24/7 healthcare environment.

As a Human Resources Business Partner, you’ll advance our life-saving work by performing the following job duties:

  • Strategic Alignment & Workforce Planning Partner with executive and operational leaders to align HR strategies with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and donor family support initiatives. Serve as a thought partner for the leaders in the areas of support. Provide coaching and guidance to leaders and team members. Lead workforce planning efforts to ensure adequate staffing for on-call clinical teams, transplant coordinators, and support staff. Use data analytics to forecast workforce needs and identify trends in turnover, engagement, and performance.
  • Talent Management & Development Support onboarding and ongoing training programs tailored to the emotional and technical demands of OPO work. Facilitate leadership development, talent assessments, and succession planning for critical roles in donation services and operations. Coach leaders on professional development plans and conversations. Guide in-line promotional conversations to ensure qualifications and timing are correct. Identify the process for backfill if necessary. Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to recruit and retain mission-driven professionals in clinical, technical, and administrative roles.
  • Employee Engagement & Culture Champion a culture of compassion, accountability, and continuous improvement. Develop initiatives to support employee well-being, especially for staff exposed to trauma and grief. Monitor engagement metrics and implement strategies to enhance morale and retention.
  • Compliance & Risk Management Ensure HR policies and practices comply with federal and state regulations, including CMS, UNOS, OSHA, and HIPAA. Partner with Quality and Compliance teams to support audits, investigations, and corrective action plans. Manage sensitive employee relations issues with discretion and empathy.
  • Operational HR Excellence Serve as a liaison between business units and the People & Culture team members to deliver consistent and effective services. Leverage HRIS systems to streamline processes and improve data accuracy. Support diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging initiatives across the organization.

Working Conditions: This role is based in Minneapolis, MN. Hybrid expectations of a minimum 3 days per week on-site. Full-time. Primary scheduled hours are during normal business hours but may flex to accommodate organizational or candidate needs. May require occasional weekends and evenings, as appropriate or needed. Must be able to travel locally to community organizations and recruiting events, and occasionally to national events and meetings, as needed. Projected offer rate range: $80-98k/yr, based on relevant experience.
