Facilities/Engineering Maintenance Supervisor
The Facilities/Engineering Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for maintaining all facilities including buildings, properties, HVAC systems, and vehicles owned by Pioneer PBS as well as assisting the engineering department as needed. This is a full time regular, non-exempt hourly position. The work hours will generally be Monday Friday during normal business hours and nights and weekends as required. Functional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Internal:
- Maintain water softener system by adding pellet salt to the tank
- Check on the sewer system, pump it out every two years and coordinate with CTO on call for service when needed
- Empty trash in the bathrooms and make sure at least one extra roll of toilet paper is available each day
- Empty trash and recycling in the kitchen and place new bags in each receptacle
- Supervise the weekly part time janitorial services
External:
- Maintain all walkways to keep them clear for foot traffic including debris, snow and ice during the winter season
- Coordinate with snow removal vendor for the parking lots
- Mowing of all areas on the property and weed whip around areas that can’t be mowed
- Seasonal grounds maintenance, mulching, clear and removal of dead plants etc. around the building in the spring/late fall to allow for new to start growing and haul all dead foliage to the compost site
- Maintain all equipment powered and non-powered so they are in good working condition and all service intervals are tended to
- Check building entrance door(s) operations frequently to assure they are in good working order
- Track any holiday or community room hours needed for doors to be open or closed outside of the normal schedule (9am-4pm) and update computer accordingly
- Monitor security camera footage for any activities needing to be reported or archived
- Maintain the pump in the pond at the end of the parking lot
Vehicles:
- Perform or coordinate service/maintenance, both on a preventive and an emergency basis, on all vehicles, and small engine equipment, tools and machinery
- Perform light service on all company vehicles including oil/filter changes, adding critical fluids, keeping a maintenance log, checking mileage, and cleaning the interior
- Check air pressure of the tires and visually inspect the tread and tire condition on a regular basis
- Rotate tires as recommended by manufacturer
- Get estimate for work on vehicles needing work outside of our capabilities
- Maintain documentation into the service log
Offsite Work:
- Responsible for maintenance and repair at towers and sites including landscape, buildings, HVAC and electrical work
- Maintain cleanliness of the inside of each building by sweeping and emptying trash
- Mitigate rodent intrusion at each site via trap or poison use
- Ensure that all transmitter equipment is clean and free from debris and insects etc.
- Maintain any HVAC units by cleaning debris and dirt from the cooling fins via high pressure air and blow gun
- Coordinate service, both on a preventative and an emergency basis, on all HVAC, electrical, and plumbing equipment or systems at all facilities and sites
- Assist engineering as needed to install new equipment etc.
- Winter months will require auxiliary heaters. These can be set up late October. Turn these units OFF mid to late April
Responsible for the physical buildings located on all Pioneer PBS properties, such as roofs, exteriors, wells, interiors, etc. This position is also responsible for working with management for maintaining an adequate inventory of necessary supplies, tools and related equipment. Work with staff when needed and as necessary to assist with delivery or pickup of items.
Provide leadership and have initiative relating to maintenance and operation on projects, tasks, and issues/concerns related to Pioneer PBS facilities. Be able to communicate with the Supervisor as well as all other departments as necessary related to the above listed responsibilities as well as other duties that arise. Be able to work with others across the staff as a team. Work with supervisor to accomplish work in a manner that aligns with the priorities set including any related activities identified on the station wide calendar. Take initiative in acquiring job-related materials, educational opportunities and knowledge to enhance your ability to perform your job. Be prompt and timely for meetings, assignments and for all aspects of the job. Be able to travel for extended periods. Potentially obtain a health card to enable driving the truck and mobile studio.
