Responsibilities

The role of the Director of Marketing Procurement is to plan and execute purchasing and sourcing strategies for the Marketing and Sales organization. Responsible for setting the procurement strategy, aligning with the marketing leadership team, and executing against the strategy for Post Holdings and all of its subsidiaries. This includes defining purchasing recommendations to support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders and driving continuous improvements throughout the function to increase efficiencies and/or reduce overall total costs for the business. This role will be responsible for Marketing and Sales categories across the company with a spend totaling more than $350 million.

Leadership

Setting individual and team goals, developing capability within the company and modeling how to work together with other business partners and within the procurement center of excellence. Identifies and communicates key responsibilities to ensure the immediate team of direct reports promotes a successful attitude, confidence in leadership, and teamwork to achieve business results. Supports the implementation of company programs to ensure the success of Post Holdings businesses and programs. Manages direct reports. Establishes and monitors a motivated and high-performance culture within the procurement group. Works directly with the marketing leadership team to execute against defined goals and strategies collectively set by both the marketing and procurement teams.

Planning and Execution

Develops individual and team goals to support departmental and company goals. Develops strategies, schedules, and work requirements to ensure that business activities meet time and budget goals. Leads strategic planning activities as needed to ensure long term marketing strategy and cost savings. Leads the design, implementation, and utilization of measurement tools to evaluate business process effectiveness and supplier performance. Plans and manages department processes and practices to ensure that programs are aligned with business goals and objectives. Prepares, communicates, and educates business partners and team members on procurement policies and practices.

Business Requirements

Provides functional expertise and executes functional responsibilities. Assesses critical information required to make effective decisions or recommendations within the marketing and sales organization. Develops and implements reporting processes to communicate project status to project teams and other business partners. Recommends modifications to marketing strategy as needed to achieve superior results. Provides periodic market and strategic updates to senior marketing and sales leaders as needed. Ensures that processes and systems improve service, gain efficiencies, or improve quality and reduce costs. Leads the design and implementation of strategy, tools and metrics to support business requirements including; sourcing, negotiation, corporate marketing and sales goals, creative, ecomm, media, pr, data analytics, imc, and sales, cost control - including total cost of ownership cost improvement, procure-to-pay. Leads the design and implementation of procurement processes and foundational procurement systems across the marketing and sales categories. Manages strategic relationships with other business units, functional areas and suppliers to support overall business requirements. Directs and manages the process for evaluating bids, negotiating contracts and monitoring supplier performance. Provides technical or product expertise to suppliers and internal customers regarding commodities, products of services. Using problem solving and analysis to assess the financial and strategic impact of business initiatives.

Qualifications

Education & Experience: 10-12 years overall Marketing and/or Procurement experience. 7-10 years: Performance metrics, development, and root cause analysis. 5-7 years procurement specific experience, including: negotiations, sourcing and RFP/RFQ issuance and analysis, contract/agreement development, vendor management, project management, including budget understanding and compliance, supply chain fundamentals. 5-7 years: Managing teams, multiple purchasing functions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Planning and executing communications strategy to ensure accurate and timely flow of information to internal customers and stakeholders and externally to vendors. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to apply knowledge of multidisciplinary business principles and practices to achieve successful outcomes in cross-functional projects and activities. Ability to set priorities, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and changing environment. Ability to lead, coach and influence cross-functional teams and direct reports. Ability to apply supply chain operations methodology to optimize impact of procurement on the supply chain. Ability to develop and implement strategies, plans and sourcing activities at the lowest total cost of ownership. Ability to negotiate and influence. Ability to manage supplier performance and drive continuous improvements with existing suppliers. Ability to analyze and create a positive impact to the direct and indirect costs and benefits of any good or service. Ability to educate partners on cost, service and quality drivers, market and technology factors, and their impact on commodities, products, and services. Ability to trouble-shoot data integrity issues within a procurement system. Ability to act as a subject matter expert in applying broad business disciplines/knowledge to support procurement activities. Ability to lead complex program and project efforts to completion. High degree of problem solving and decision-making ability. Knowledge of purchasing regulations, laws and accounting standards including SOX, FASB, and process controls. Ability to conform to shifting priorities in spending strategies, product demands and purchasing timelines through analytical capabilities. Ability to exercise judgment and handle ambiguity within generally defined practices and policies selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

This is a hybrid role. In-office days are Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Work from home days are Mondays and Fridays.
