Direct Support Professional (DSP)

Job Duties And Responsibilities

This position provides services to individuals with a broad array of disabilities, whether behavioral, physical, or mental health. Direct support team members assist with activities of daily living, similar to PCA's and certified nursing assistants. Some duties include:

• Errands for shopping or activities
• Transporting to medical appointments
• Enjoying recreational outings
• Meal preparation
• Medication administration
• Teaching strategies to live as independently as possible

Some sites offer bathing, toileting, hygiene, and grooming, while others do not require these cares.

Minimum Education Required Qualifications:
