CNC Machinist

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team, specializing in machining operations with both multi-axis lathes and Haas mills. The ideal candidate should be open to working on both types of machines, although prior experience on both is not necessary at the start. The role involves setting up machines with the proper tooling, inspecting parts, and performing minor program edits.

Responsibilities:

• Perform machining operations using multi-axis lathes and Haas mills.
• Set up machines with the proper tooling and perform tool changes.
• Inspect parts using dial micrometers, digital calipers, and height gauges.
• Edit programs for minor adjustments as needed.
• Handle both short runs (8-10 parts) and long runs (3-4 days) efficiently.
• Perform at least 2-3 setups per week.
• Document and inspect parts using iPads.

Essential Skills:

• 1+ years of recent experience in machining with mills or lathes.
• Comfortable with machine setup and tooling.
• Experience with multi-axis lathes is advantageous.
• Experience with Haas mills is a plus.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Any experience with setups is beneficial.
• Ability to read blueprints and perform changeovers.
• Knowledge of working with aluminum and steel materials.

Work Environment:

The machine shop, home to 10-12 employees, is a dedicated and organized area within a larger facility that employs nearly 100 people. The company specializes in electronic and mechanical drive technology and control systems, providing a clean and well-maintained work area.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Shakopee, Minnesota.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
