As a key contributor to the Core R&D DevOps team, you will support the Neuromodulation and Pelvic Health operating units in a cloud engineering capacity, focusing on the Medtronic Digital Health web platform. Your responsibilities will include assisting with the implementation of monitoring systems, providing technical support, and contributing to the optimization of cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance. You will collaborate closely with our web platform development teams to support and maintain an optimized cloud environment and infrastructure, ensuring that our systems facilitate the highest quality delivery of Medtronic Neuroscience products and technologies. This position presents an outstanding opportunity for a highly motivated early-career engineer to become the primary technical support for our web portal.

Working on-site in a collaborative and dynamic environment, you will tackle complex challenges, learn directly from experienced senior engineers, and play a pivotal role in ensuring the portal's success. The ideal candidate demonstrates initiative, embraces rapid learning, and is committed to raising the standard of excellence for both themselves and the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in implementing and monitoring cloud infrastructure to help ensure performance and uptime.
  • Collaborate as part of the support team for infrastructure troubleshooting.
  • Help design and maintain AWS CloudFormation templates to enhance infrastructure reliability.
  • Contribute to managing infrastructure and cloud resources, supporting developer environments for build, test, and deployment.
  • Participate in analyzing cloud resource usage for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Support the administration of test environment infrastructure, including test nodes, tooling, and monitoring.
  • Learn and apply security monitoring practices to assist in incident detection and response.
  • Help maintain clear documentation of monitoring setups for team accessibility.
  • Work alongside development and security teams to enhance monitoring capabilities.
  • Assist in the creation of release templates for consistent deployment processes.
  • Support optimization of build pipelines for efficient code integration and delivery.
  • Engage in continuous learning of monitoring technologies and best practices.

Skills/Experience:

  • Basic knowledge in supporting web applications, including web servers, monitoring, and networking.
  • Experience with AWS cloud services.
  • Basic proficiency in Linux server management.
  • Familiarity with designing and architecting GitLab CI/CD pipelines, including simple branching strategies.
  • Some experience with automation, build, and configuration tools such as Jenkins, Rundeck, Ansible Tower, GitLab, SonarQube, and Terraform.
  • Exposure to containerization tools and infrastructure, including Docker.
  • Fundamental knowledge in security and CVE remediation.
  • Beginner system integration and scripting abilities.
  • Developing troubleshooting, teamwork, and communication skills.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements:

  • Baccalaureate degree required and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 0 years of experience.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$106,400.00 - $159,600.00 This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP). The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others). The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
