The Salvation Army Northern Division Virginia is committed to "Doing the Most Good" by providing holistic, person-centered services to individuals and families. These services include worship services and pastoral care; short- and long-term case management; food, clothing, utility, rent, and housing support; and connections to community partners. The annual Red Kettle Campaign runs through the holiday season and raises essential funds for the organization's programs. During this time, thousands of bell ringers collect donations at red kettles placed on street corners and in front of stores. The Christmas Support Staff is a seasonal position that assists with Christmas programs and performs daily office administrative tasks. Wage: $13 per hour, 30 hours per week. Location: 507 - 12th Ave W, Virginia, MN 55792.
Essential Functions (approximate time spent):
Education and Experience: High School diploma or equivalent required. Must pass background checks. Valid driver's license and meet MVR requirements.
Competencies: Flexible interpersonal and communication skills. High level of honor in dealing with confidential information. Works with integrity, valuing honesty and diligence. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficient with PC, Microsoft Office, databases, and standard office equipment.
Working Conditions: A variety of work, including sitting or standing for long periods of time. Professional environment; not eligible for a remote-friendly work environment. Must be able to communicate clearly with colleagues, the public, and participants. Standard business hours with occasional evenings and weekends. Must be able to lift 20 pounds occasionally.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
Driving/Travel Requirements: May occasionally drive agency vehicle locally to support the mission, including picking up kettles or driving to kettle sites to cover bellringing shifts.
